I am going to prom as a freshmen, which most of my friends' parents disagree with being that my boyfriend is 18 and a senior. My parents on the other hand are totally comfortable with everything. My boyfriend and I are really close and my parents understand that teens will do what they want to do whether they are allowed or not. So why not KNOW what they are doing instead of making them sneak around to do it. I told my mom that if I felt like I was going to have sex I would tell her even if it wasn't prom night, and she responded by saying she would allow me to go on the pill as long as other protection was still used. As for spending the night out, drinking and partying, they also trust me to make good judgments, this isn't even the first time I have spent the night out with him. There is a mutual understanding of respect and trust between my parents and I. As for my boyfriend we have that same understanding along with where we stand sexually and emotionally. I do not feel forced into anything or forbidden to anything, and that's all that matters. I feel pretty fortunate for my situation.

Hi. I guess I'm your first submition. So here goes. my parents are totally convinced i'm going to have wild sex that night. I asked a guy form my school. i know him okay, but we're not going out or anything. He's actually been to my house once to study with a couple other friends. i brought him to my house again this week to meet my parents so they could know who i'm goong with and everything went okay, eexcept that after Jim left they said his intentions were obvious because it was written in his face that all he wanted was sex prom night. I mena, like how lame is that? I told them we're just friens, not even good friends and that there's no way i'll do it with him or anyone prom. Yah, so they don't believe me. but at least they haven't stopped me from gooing, and I was worried about that. Liz
