-- From Casey Steward, Boldman Highschool, New York NY

Are prom is on June 2nd and our theme is "Una Bella Notta" (A beautiful night) We have our prom at Villa Tacci every year which is a huge villa......it is absolutely beautiful outside of the building with flowers and water fountains...it is pretty much like a royal garden. Anyways, the problem is the inside of the villa where we have our dinner and dancing is quite dull.....and the celling is exceptional high.....so it is hard to decorate the celling......and because the villa is historical we can not really put stuff on the walls...To sum this up, by any chance does anyone have any ideas how to decorate a large room with out putting things on the wall or the celling?

-- From Jessica, Vicenza High School, Vicenza Italy

"A Walk In Venice" This year our prom was seriously AMAZING!!! When I first heard the theme I wasn't really sure but honestly it was honestly beautiful!!!

Peace, Love and Cocktails is a nice theme. All the girls wear cocktail dresses.

-- From Gina, SJC, Trinidad & Tobago TT

the prm at my school 2 years ago was "One Step at A Time" and all the grads had their footprints all over the wall...and last years was "Red Carpet" and they had a murial of red carpet press along the gym walls with a huge red carpet complete with ropes. it was great and the Grand March went along so well with it!

-- From Jillian, DA, Nova Scotia, Canada

For a Valentines in Vegas theme it would be cool to make the tickets look like cards (ace of hearts) and to make a huge roulette table and hang it from the celing. Off to the side could be some poker tables and having a slot machine in the pictures would be fantastic.

-- From Reggie , West Albany, OR

My junior prom was in March - really early, I know, but I go to an arts school and we have a buttload of performances in April/May. Our theme was "Welcome to Miami." It was such a good idea! No one else in our area had EVER thought of it. Even the building was very unique - it was in an old historic firehouse downtown. The firehouse's courtyard had a gorgeous fountain and garden in the center, which is where we had pictures. On the inside, we had tiki hut- type things for the food and drinks, and we had a lot of salsa and flamenco music. One problem, though - there were beta fish on the tables, and no one took them home. So the following week, people from prom committee were walking around campus with random red and orange fish, trying to give them out. lol

Ok.. so i was doing some thinking for next years WinterBall 2006.. Which one sounds better? "Welcome to Atlanta" where there'd be life size cutouts of famous celebrities from GA (you can take pictures with them); movie screens that will show music videos, etc; punch bowl with cider (Get Crunk!.. haha); & hanging lights all around... OR... "Casino Royale" which is like a Las Vegas theme with blow up dice, big big big playing cards up on the walls, and lights all around... Which one would you rather have???? Thanks!

-- From Chat, Waiakea High, Hilo HI

Our theme for 2006 was "A Night In Vegas" The juniors had set up a poker tournment, they had tables for backjack, and a few other card games that get played at casinos..It was decorated nicely, for the walk way for class representatives they had a huge cards laying on the floor over a game board, and had balloons set up, for the dance area they didnt really do too much there, but for pictures..that turned out awesome.. they had gold streamers, casino balloons, and huge cards set up in it turned out nice..oh and for the court and stage..they had cards and dice set up and other than that i couldn't tell ya what they had up..

for our 05-06 prom theme we did "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" it was really cool especially since it was on a saturday night and we had a light up dance floor and the backdrop for the stage was an irridescent material. since the place we rented out did not allow us to hang anything from the ceiling we just had huge disco ball centerpieces. for lighting we used these big blocks of lights that were stacked up about four to a stack and could change to whatever color you wanted. so yeah, that was pretty tight. with more money we would have had two big screens on either side of the stage and a camera man walking around filming people with the footage going onto the screens.

-- From kelli, hb plant high school, tampa fl

Our Prom Theme was so Elegant. It was , "Happily Ever After... A Fairy Tale Moment" It was so original, and the location fit the theme really well (on the tarrace of Coco Reefs)

-- From Rasheeda Burgess, Mount Saint Agnes Academy , Bermuda

We had a wedding theme. it was oooohhhhh soooooo beautiful. we had it at this old but restored caslte. Of course my parents paid for the rental which was 4000 that night it went on for like 9hrs it was this huge affair where there were ice swans, rose center pieces, rose petals scattered on the white capet, there were fountains where pictures were taken and tons more features. the night was great and definately rememberable

-- From Heather, N/A, Ireland, Europe

My 8th grade year we did Mardi Gras it was really stupid. We didnt have very much money for decorations.

The theme was "Stand By Me" and I had a wonderful time. But it was sad when everyone got there that everyone left there dates behind to hang with their friends or the dump them. I had fun with my date and everytime I hear the song "Stand By Me" I think of him and I cry.

-- From Ashley Gabriele, Valencia High School, Canyon Country CA

-- From Kelly, William Mason High, Oh

For our homecoming theme we did "Night Under the Big Top" which was a circus theme. for table center pieces we did colorful balloons held down by little sand bags and we had mints lying on the tables. as a backdrop for pictures we had animals along with a taimer which was also very colorfull. up on the walls in the gym were circus animals placed behind bars (wooden pannels). the stage was big with an archway and lights all around it and gasmer material. we had red and yellow as the theme colors and we hung rolls of yellow and red from the ceiling drapping down connected to the walls like everyone was under a big tent. it was really awesome.

-- From hillary, , mo

For our Homecomming theme we did "Theres no place like Homecoming" and it was based off the Wizard Of Oz movie. we had the Yellow Brick Road set up as a walkway and it was very colorfull.

i was wondering if anyone has any advice about doing a james bond theme?? email me- gothic-kitten@hotmail.com thank you!! <3

-- From Katie, LHSSD, san diego CA

last years Junior prom was themed MOULIN ROUGE we had it in a 4 story art museum and danced on the roof, we played music from the movie i.e. "Can Can" "Lady marmalade" etc and everyone dressed for the occasion with costumes from the movie (but classy) our invites were an exact replica of the movie poster and it was a really successful idea, try to think outside the box and people will really enjoy it!

-- From Sami , Galena High, Reno NV

The next prom is planning to be James Bond (grad is 007 so what the hey?) but I have no idea how to decorate the gym. If there are any ideas please e-mail me amyjennison950@hotmail.com. It would be a huge help! Thank you!! :)

-- From Amy J, South Huron, Exeter On

This year our theme was "All That Jazz" It was really neat. The coolest part was that our school's spring musical this year was "CHICAGO" and the entire school really got into te mood for a few weeks. It was really a good theme too. Look to musicals for themes. It might help!

-- From , ,

last year for semi formal we did "tree of cranes" it was like asiainish and we had big japanese lanterns, a lot of red and black, orchids on the tables, a pond, a silk screen, it was really original and cool...
