To Balance Your Look
You want to:

1. Get people to notice your slim waist

Tight at the waist (but not too much) works well. Belts, sashes, strings, all work well.

2. Show your curves to your advantage with the right fabrics

Just select fabrics that drape nicely so that they fall softly over your curves without giving you an angular look (if they're hard like Taffeta), or an overly curvy look (if they're elastic and/or skin tight like some of the heavily beaded dresses). Be careful with stripes and geometric patterns. They may look a little weird on you-- solid colors with little ornamentation are best.

3. Keep it reasonably tight

Strapless dresses, lowcut in the back, spaghetti straps, and most open necks & backlines look good on you. Keep the bust reasonably fitted, and the waist particularly so. The hip and leg area can be straight or A-line.

4. In general

You can wear pretty much anything and it'll look good on your figure. However, don't forget that semi-fitted gowns will lengthen your figure and give you a sexier and more sophisticated look than totally tight gowns. What's semi-fitted? Something that isn't practically painted on!
