I am 17 years old and I'm a junior in
high school,but I went to two senior
proms last year, with two of my REALLY
CLOSE friends, one of which was my ex-
boyfriend. And he was a virgin, I wasn't
(unfortunately).
Anyway, after he and I
left he wanted me to go back to his
place and make his prom night
special. Well needless to say, that
didn't happen, because I explained to
him that having sex is GREAT, yes, but
it is NOT worth giving up your virginity until you
find that ONE AND ONLY special someone.
I was 15 when I first gave mine up, and
yes it was an awesome exsperience, but
you know what? that was also one of the
saddest nights of my life, because the
one thing that kept running through my
mind the next day was...WHAT HAVE
I DONE ? ! ? ! ? I JUST GAVE UP THE
MOST PRECIOUS GIFT I COULD HAVE EVER
GIVEN TO MY HUSBAND. BECAUSE ONCE YOU
GIVE THAT PART OF YOU AWAY, YOU CAN'T
EVER HAVE IT BACK...EVER.
After I was done explaining that to my prom date
he said, Rachel, you know what? you are
the only person that has ever made me
stop and think twice about giving up my
virginity, and you are right, 'cause
that is something I want to be able
to give to my wife, and I want to be
able to be proud of myself and at the
same time have my wife proud of me,
instead of having to have her look up
at me with those eyes that girl's give,
with tears, and ask me why I didn't wait
for her.
But yeah...after that we went
out to eat and went back to my house
where we stayed up all night, and
watched movies, and fell asleep, him on
the couch, and me in my bed.

i feel awful for her to have that
