well, I got my dream outfit: a beautiful white satin cinderella ballgown with a huge tulle skirt, gloves, strappy heels, tiara, and other jewelry. I got my dream guy to ask me to the prom.
He picked me up in a rented red corvette and we went to the restaurant. We finished eating and went to the hotel about an hour away from my house where the prom was being held. We went in for the grand march and the first few dances, but then we went outside to be alone.
So far so good. This night was going to be perfect, right? WRONG!!! We sat on the rim of the beautiful fountain outside the hotel and talked about how the day had been going so far. We were both really happy. We were just about to kiss when one of his friends asked us if we were going back in. We had been so caught up in each other that neither of us had seen him walk up to us. I screamed and fell backward into the fountain, soaking my beautiful gown. My date helped me up out of the fountain and held me while I cried about how my dress and the night was ruined.
Well, this story has a happy ending. After I stopped crying, he led me to the bathroom to try to dry off a little and make my hair look good. I didn't want to go back to the dance, so he asked if I wanted to go for a nice romantic walk. He took me to a place he had gone once when he was visiting his uncle in this town a few months earlier. Since neither of us had anything else to change into, we just went as we were, in our prom clothes. It was a dirt path through some woods that led to a beautiful lake. When we got to the lake we sat on a log and watched the waves ripple on the lake and talked for a long time. I was real tired and fell asleep leaning on his shoulder. He just held me while I slept and then woke me up after about half an hour to take me back to his car. He was too tired to drive back, so we slept in his car for the rest of the night.
I don't think that anything will happen to me that is more romantic than that night. Our friends teased us about it for a while afterwards, but we didn't mind.
The best thing about it is that my date is still going out with me now, a year later. I think that if it hadn't been for me ruining my dress, we wouldn't still be going out with each other.

Did anyone notice she said that if it weren't for her dress being ruined ... they wouldn't be going out ... doesn't sound very romantic. But then again ... you can make sure it'll last on your wedding night by falling in the cake. Best Wishes ... no I take that back ... I feel sorry for you. -- Amy, Sudbury ON
It's sweet that you could trust him enough to stay out with him all night without worrying over being pressured to do something you didn't want. :) -- Unknown
