Okay well its not really Prom yet, since our school is a intermediate school and Im in grade ten. Its more of a formal. Anyways we have so many ideas. We have under the sea. We were going to have blue sheer fabric and fish on the walls and stuff. The DJ has a bubble maker so we have bubbles and all. Also we had fantasy , with Glitter and silver and stuff. We arent really sure what we are going to do so we are making a poll, whatever its going to be , ITLL BE GREAT!

-- From Erika, , Ottawa Canada

Ok... So you all think you got it bad for themes. Get this. Our junior class votes on the prom theme. Those stupid kids chose Take Me Out To The Ball Game!!! I mean... thats not even .... a ...prom theme!! So we all made a big fuss.. I drew up a petition... but never had to hand it in. It kind of changed ... Field of Dreams....but it is still baseball! It is crap. Our pictures are going to look like base ball cards... and im just very livid. This is exactly why we should have the seniors voting. I mean it is our prom. Oh and the junior class is in charge of all of prom...so they are in charge of raising money... we dont even have $1000!! How are we going to have a prom. We cant even rent the building we have it in!!! I feel disaster...

-- From Kelsi, Spencer High School, Spencer IA

last year, our senior class wanted to be original with their prom idea...it was a cool idea, but a horrible prom. they thought it would be fun to have the prom on a boat! awesome right? well, it turns out that the boat they got couldn't hold 500 kids, which is what they had...it was cramped, hot, crowded, and ppl got seasick...not to mention, a lack of parking, and some ppl missed the boat! Take my advise...DON'T have ur prom on a boat!!!

-- From Laura, chs, md

Last year, I went to 2 proms. My ex's school's theme was "A Garden Under the Stars" and it was an oriental theme and was absolutely gorgeous. The colors were red and gold and black and the place looked absolutely beautiful. My school's theme was "Hollywood Nights" and we gave out Oscars to the king, queen, and court, had movie posters everywhere. OUr favors were in bags that looked like the clappers. it was really cool. This year's theme is Las Vegas, which sounds soooo lame!

-- From Ashley, , Fishers IN

Last year I was a spohomore and the prom theme was "A red Carpart Affiar". They had cute out statues of marlyn monroe, james dean, etc.. it was pretty cool (ok I didnt go to prom last year but I got to see pictures of it) Now this year im a junior and i am on the prom committe.. so far our class has it narrowed down to 2 themes. FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND, which is tropical, or LA BELLA NOCHA

-- From Whitney, Kirksville High School, kirksville M0

-- From Mackenzie, LFHS, Lake Forest IL

"Once Upon A Time..."

-- From Head Of Prom, Sioux Falls Christian, SD

I'M PART OF THE PROM COMMITTEE AND I CAME UP WITH A FEW IDEAS. THEY ARE LASTING MEMORIES, A NIGHT TO REMEMBER, PRECIOUS MEMORIES, AND A NIGHT OF ELEGANCE. WE HAVEN'T CAME UP WITH A PROM THEME YET, BUT WE ARE LOOKING FOR A REALLY GOOD ONE.

-- From KANITHA BURKS, CUSTER HIGH SCHOOL, MILWAUKEE WI

Prom 2005 is going to rock, all the guys want the theme to be "Drop It Like It's Hott". Yeah I know sounds kinda corny but it's going to be great. All the girls want "Time of your life" off of Dirty Dancing, but I guess we'll see which one wins.

-- From Heather, White House High School, White House TN

Our theme for our Prom is A Night In Paradise. I'm kindda for it but we have a hawaiian theme and its weird for such a formal night.

-- From Monica, Green Run High School, Virginia Beach Va

Prom 2005 this year is Arabian Nights. I'm not sure how we're decorating, but i think its alittle weird. If anyone else has had this theme, please elaborate and tell me what it looked like. Last year's prom was a night to remember.

-- From sarah, North Royalton, Broadview Hts. OH

Our 2005 junior/senior prom theme is Escape to paradise. we are making palm trees, a waterfall using white and blue gossamer with streaming lights in them on top of rock colored styrofoam then the waterfall will continue into a river. the place we are having our prom is on a lake so we're having a path of tiki lamps down to the lake. we are giving leis to every person that comes in.

-- From , Central Lake High School, Central Lake MI

Last year the theme for prom was "Diamonds and Ice". The budget was somewhere around $3,000 so it was pretty crazy. We built 10 foot columns and painted them pearl-white and then sprayed white glitter one them and draped white fabric with a pearly sheen to it over two or three columns. We also had these strange-looking trees that looked amazing in the dark. They were only cardboard but white and glittery and massive. They made really enchanting-looking shadows all across the dancefloor. Everything had diamond accents on it and the tables had white linens with a bouquet of twelve balloons on every centerpiece. We had white candles floating in a frosted bowl, as a centerpiece for every table. Our school has grade elevens "host" the prom, so that its other students and not teachers inside serving drinks and taking away broken balloons and random chores like that. Eight girls wore white knee-length dresses that the prom advisor had made fro us and the eight guys wore (rented) white tuxes with top hats and canes. It was really beautiful.

-- From Meghan, HTHS, Moncton NB

Last years prom theme was captured in a dream, it was quite tacky, all light blue and white. The year before that was some tropical theme, it was awesome. We had this material that covered the whole cieling with tropical colors and we had a tiki hut and waterfall, it was beautiful.

-- From Hal, , HB MI

Freshman year it was "Bliss" Sophomore year it was "Under the Stars" Junior year will be "Under the Sea" Have a safe prom 2005 everyone!

-- From Jessica, Forest Park High School, Crystal Falls MI

Our theme this year is Broadway! We wanted to get it changed to Red Carpet, but no such luck! no matter what it's going to be fun! Our prom is so... early though. It is on March 19th!

-- From Jennifer M. R., South Grand Prairie, Grand Priarie TX

i am a junior this year and i am so excited for my first prom. This year our theme is A Night In Bangcok. At first some of us thought it would be really ugly but it is turning out to be the best thing ever. It is going to be really kewl!!!!!

-- From Haleigh Studer, Rawlins County High School, Atwood KS

For my junior prom, the theme was "Heaven in your Eyes." No one knows what the theme is this year. Well just find out, but not soon enough.

-- From Jen, Pine Ridge High School, Deltona FL

Last year our prom theme was "Make it last forever" and our colors were black and silver. This year our theme is Now and Forever and I'm scared of what it might look like.

-- From Sha'Neisha Blanton , Griffin High School , Griffin Ga

Our prom theme this year is Athenian Dreams its like a Greek theme. We are having horse drawn carriages, people serving food in togas, and tons of awesome stuff.

-- From Shawna Weng, La Quinta High, La Quinta CA

This is our first eight grade Prom and were so excited! -- From celeste, Decatur County Middle School (DCMS), Parsons TN

Our theme for this year's prom is "Color Them Wonderful" which goes along with our theme song "i'll Be" by Edwin McCain, I'm in charge of decorations and we are going to have a Gazebo to walk through and Tulle fabric w/LIghts strung through it and tall pillars and then we are going to have a small park scene. The dance floor is going to be decorated with Tulle fabric hanging above us in different colors. We are also having the best floral shop in town do all our flowers, instead of ballons. Its going to look beautiful, I can't wait!

-- From Amanda, Everest, Wausau WI

We are doing "A Night In Vegas" with gold red and blue everything. we also are having a chocolate fountain. i cannot wait for prom

-- From Samantha, Whitehall High School, Whitehall PA

Our theme for prom last year was "look to the sky." it was really pretty with blue backdrops and lots of different shapes of silver stars. there were also blue, silver, and white balloons on all of the tables. all along the dance floor there were tiny little lights that were wrapped in plastic so they wouldnt break. it was awesome!

-- From Sarah, MCHS, West Liberty KY

Our theme this year is going to be "A Venetian Affair." We are so pumped for it and we are working our hardest. We were in luck when we found a room that was painted green, had a brick fire place and wine barrles as murals on the walls. The colors are plum, forest green, burgendy and gold. Columbia High Schools prom is going to be the best EVER!

-- From jennifer plummer, Columbia High School, white salmon wa

This years prom theme is "Pirates' Cove". It should be.... interesting. I just hope it turns out well and not tacky or anything! I'm really glad this isnt my Senior Prom! Last year our prom theme was "Paris in the Fall", I didnt go but I did see pictures and it was gorgeous!

-- From Keri, Conneaut Lake Highschool, Conneaut Lake PA

This year our homecoming theme was "Life styles of the Rich and Famous" It was a hollywood theme and it was fun. Everyone seemed to have a blast. Our football cheerleaders and ASB staff did a great job planning the dance. We put did reasearch on the computer on hollywood celebrities and found a whole bunch of them. So we put pictures of celebrities threw out the gym. It really felt like we were in hollywood. Everyone participated, everyone dressed up as their favorite hollywood celebrity. My twin sister dressed up as J.Lo so did like two other girls. Our center piece was "champain" (apple sider) which was great also. Everybody seemed to like that idea which was my twin sisters idea. For the seniors me and my cheer coach put together a walk of fame. We keep a space open on the gym floor where we put the all the seniors name on a gold star. Which they got to take home with them at the end of the night. They really felt like stars that night, you could just tell. That homecoming was dedicated especially for them. I was very, very proud of my squad and the student ASB. My Junior class is also putting on the Junior\Senior prom and since we are a small 1A school so we are inviting the freshmen and the sophomores just so we can put most of the money back into our budjet. Our theme is going to be "A midnight stroll" it's a garden theme. We have the date picked out. It's set for the 14 of May. It's something different than any of the junior class at our high school has came up. The colors are deep purple, balck and silver. We are planning to have lots of lights on the celeing and blue ballons on the top of those lights to make it seem like it's really outside. Were also going to be renting trees, benches and lamps for our local party palace just to make it seem more of a fantasy not a dream any longer. I am the one in charge of everything so i want it to be a night that no one or the senior is going to forget.

-- From Lilianna Torres , White Swan High School , White Swan, WA

Some of the themes that we were going to have was "Casinon night: Life is a gamble". every year our themes must be approved by our principal. she said no because gambiling is not a school related activity. For prom i wanted "Eternal Garden" but i was out numbered.

-- From Lilianna Torres , white Swan High School , White Swan WA

This year our prom theme is Mardi Gras. I reallly like that. It is very different because its usually very formal and dressy me and my Bf of 4 years is going and i got a greenish dress so sexy

-- From danielle, Belleville Township High School West, Belleville il

Our prom this year is Under The Sea for April 23 so if anybody has ideas of how to decorate and use general materials for this please email me at higby11@hotmail.com thank you for your opinion

-- From Rebecca, , NE

This is my first year going to prom since I'm a junior. I am SO excited because our theme is going to be "A night out on the town" which I hope is really beautiful. I'm not on prom committee or anything so I don't know what the decorations are or what our budget is but I do know that our prom is at the Holiday Inn (Holidome) and each ticket is $15 dollars so it better be very well decorated! Everyone is going formal as always and me and my boyfriend of 2 years is renting a room in the hotel prom is at so we dont have to drive in a bunch of traffic with drunk people! It should be a LOT of fun for my first prom and I hope everyone else has a sweet and safe prom 2005!!!!

-- From Christy B., North High School, OH

Every year, the juniors plan our proms... the theme, location (though that's mostly been set by the school now), ticket prices... everything. Last year our theme was "A Moment in Time" and it was awful. Though it was my class, I disagreed with the whole thing. They had the New York Skyline on the stage but when it came to the idea of putting a grandfather clock in the picture background, I had to draw the line. This year, the juniors have actually proven themselves better and more outgoing than my class. The theme is "Puttin' On the Ritz." It's nice because it takes away from all the lovey-dovey romantic vacation themes and moves it back to a vintage fun setting with a feel like the movie Chicago, though I'm sure it won't be as risque.

-- From Nessa, , Wichita KS

This year's Prom 2005 theme is going to be Las Vegas. Problems: C'mon! Think about it. All I know is that the tickets are $50 so it better be worth it. It would be cool if they incorporated some tables to gamble at. All I know is that no matter what, WLHS always knows how to have fun! GO OREGON! But yeah, before that we had just regular themes. Our school is the #1 party school in Oregon, not to mention the 2nd richest, and so we all know that we're going to be breathalized before we enter. Good luck to me!

-- From Maggie Laufman, West Linn High School, West Linn OR

Our theme is a Black Tie Affair. The colors are black, white, and silver. It's a throw back to the old school formal event, really classy, all delightfully elegant and super expensive (yay prom tickets)!

-- From Amy Hake, Lindbergh High School, St. Louis MO

I'm a junior this year. We're still planning our prom right now. I believe the theme is A Walk With Roses. Our colors will be red, silver, and white.

-- From Christina Palmer, Lee Central High School, Bishopville SC
